a division of SustainGroup

Headquartered in South Africa, SustainSolar focuses on business development across the entire African continent with current business activities in numerous Sub-Saharan countries.

About SustainSolar

African emerging economies are facing major challenges in reaching the UN Sustainable Development Goals, amongst which Goal 7 "Affordable and Clean Energy" is of very high importance. On the African continent, over 700 million people live without access to reliable and safe electricity. Sustainable Power Generation (Pty) Ltd. was founded in 2016 with the goal to respond to this need with high quality, decentralized and modular sustainable energy solutions using clean gaseous fuels and solar PV technology.

Made of world-class components, our solutions are designed and manufactured in Cape Town, South Africa, a leading logistics hub with major shipping lines connecting us to the world and excellent road network into the Sub-Saharan region.

Acknowledging the different contexts in which our customers operate, we formed two separate divisions: SustainPower our gas-to-power division and SustainSolar, our solar PV solutions division, each focusing on their respective technology and relevant market expertise to provide the best service to our decentralized energy clients across the continent.

SustainSolar Horizontal

SustainSolar is a leading system integrator of high quality, turn-key containerised solar and battery storage systems. SustainSolar offers an innovative range of products consisting of modular, plug and play solutions suitable for various applications such as off-grid power supply, mini-grids for rural electrification, hybrid diesel fuel saver systems for commercial solutions and rapid deployment mobile systems.

SustainPower is a unique power equipment packager that operates in the gas-to-power industry focusing on high-quality solutions for decentralised sustainable power generation using biogas, landfill gas and natural gas. The gensets and combined heat and power plants (CHPs) are designed and manufactured in South Africa with world-class engines and components. Aside from saving clients' money through power outage protection, peak shaving and waste heat recovery, SustainPower reduces carbon emissions by displacing diesel and coal in an efficient way.

SustainStorage offers turn-key, fully integrated and modular, AC-coupled containerised battery energy storage systems (BESS) with optional PV integration. Designed together with our technology partners, our product range is applicable to both off-grid and grid-tied energy storage applications such as back-up, peak shaving, energy shifting and frequency regulation. Where required, the SUSTAINSTORAGE™ BESS range can offer energy management systems (EMS), black start capability and diesel generator integration.
